History of Life & The Status of Other Living Things Today (Chris Searles)
Greetings AllCreation readers --
This month i'm sharing something very special from my own work, a full hour video of a recent presentation entitled, "How to Win on Climate Change and the Extinction Crisis." I specifically request that you watch the first 25 minutes, also known as Chapter 1: Biodiversity = Life Support Services, to learn about the history of life and the status of other living things today.
Here's the link, please watch and share: tinyurl.com/biointegrity.
Our theme this month, Wild & Domesticated, explores various questions and feelings related to experiencing the wild, natural world. I hope you'll spend some time reading the numerous great writings from our clergy and poetry contributors.
Suffice to say, the Earth's wildernesses are rapidly disappearing. We can restore them, but that effort has yet to begin. Most of what we call "the Creation", aka. the natural world, has declined past the point of safety in the last 50 years due to rapid human expansion. These recent, rapid losses mean civilization's future is now in question. Ecosystems are Earth's vital organs. Without healthy, biodiverse, wild ecosystems we lose the basis of Life, we lose our life support systems. We started this project largely to raise awareness on that.
We're more than concerned, we're actively promoting solutions. (See the contact links at bottom of this email to learn more.) In case you don't have time to watch my video linked above, here are several key slides re: the status of Earth's wildernesses and other living things today.
For more info on the above and more on the most direction solution to the species and ecosystem extinction crisis, please check my paper: The Systemic Climate Solution.
If you have questions or want to be connected to the most affordable efforts to protect Earth's biodiversity and wild ecosystems, please contact me via my project: biointegrity.net. (Just scroll to the bottom of any page on the website to send a note via the email box.)
Thanks for reading. Spread the word! Protect and restore our planet's vital organs, the beauty that animates the Creation, our life support systems--Chris Searles (editor, AllCreation.org)
