In a Black Firmament (St. Stephens Episcopal)

 In a black firmament,
In a sinful time,
A star was born and began to shine.
Its golden light bathed the earth
And announced with glory the Savior's birth.
The star's bright glow then filled the night
And announced a larger eternal light
A larger eternal light!
 
It announced the birth of the Promised One
It announced the birth of God's own Son
It announced the birth of the Prince of Peace
It announced a time when hate would cease
To infest the earth.
 
In a dark firmament,
In a sinful time,
A star was born and began to shine,
It began to shine
It began to shine.
