Lakota: Prayer on Humility, Wisdom on Beauty
Wakan Tanka,
Great Mystery (Great Spirit),
Teach me how to trust my heart,
Teach me how to trust my mind,
Teach me how to trust my intuition,
Teach me how to trust my inner knowing,
The senses of my body,
The blessings of my spirit.
Teach me to trust these things
so that I may enter my Sacred Space
and love beyond my fear
and thus Walk in Balance
with the passing of each glorious Sun.
Honor the sacred
Honor the Earth, our Mother
Honor the Elders
Honor all with whom we share the Earth
Four-leggeds
Two-leggeds
Winged ones
Swimmers
Crawlers
Plant and rock people
Walk in balance and beauty.

Shows Chief Sitting Bull, circa 1885, "a Hunkpapa Lakota holy man who led his people during years of resistance to United States government policies. He was killed by Indian agency police on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation during an attempt to arrest him, at a time when authorities feared that he would join the Ghost Dance movement."
